For the attention of non-resident athletes in Romania who will participate with a crossbow at the European HDH-IAA  Historical and 3D Archery Championships

Conditions for crossing the state border

1. Athletes who will participate with a crossbow must apply to the diplomatic representation or consular office of Romania in the state in which they are located to obtain the approval for the introduction of the crossbow and arrows on the territory of Romania.

2. The application requesting the approval must be accompanied by the following documents:

a) valid border crossing document;

b) an authentic document proving the legal ownership of the crossbow and arrows, if this is possible;

c) a document showing the technical characteristics of the crossbow that the applicant wishes to introduce on the territory of Romania;

d) the statement written in Romanian or accompanied by the authorized translation in Romanian, regarding the need to introduce the crossbow and arrows on the territory of Romania and the period of time during which it is on the territory of Romania and the invitation to participate to the European Championship. The organizers will make the declaration model available to the athletes and will send the invitations to the registered athletes;

e) proof of fulfillment in Romania of the conditions for the storage and security of the crossbow and arrows (The existence of a metal cabinet for storing the crossbow and arrows at the athlete’s place of accommodation must be proven. The organizers can provide, upon request, a secure common storage place for the crossbows – we will send the proof to registered athletes upon request).

3. The diplomatic representation or the consular office checks whether the condition regarding the legal possession of the crossbow and arrows in the state of residence, the validity of the travel document and will send the request to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.

4. The General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police checks whether all the conditions stipulated by the law are met and if the legal conditions regarding the introduction of crossbows and arrows into Romania have been found to be met, it sends the opinion to the diplomatic representation or the consular office.

5. The approval for the introduction of crossbows and arrows on the territory of Romania is granted for a maximum period of 30 days, without the possibility of extending it.

6. The introduction of the crossbow and related arrows into the territory of Romania is allowed by the border police structures only under the conditions of presentation of the approval.

7. If the crossbow and the arrows introduced on the territory of Romania are lost, stolen or destroyed on the territory of Romania, the owner has the obligation to notify, within 24 hours, the police body in whose jurisdiction the event occurred, he issuing him a proof that will be presented to the border police bodies upon exiting the country.

1. Register on HDH-IAA webpage https://hdhiaa.net/competitions to the competition you wish to participate on
2. The organizer will send on your registered email address a). the application form for requesting approval for the introduction of the crossbow and arrows on the territory of Romania, b). the invitation to the championship, and c). the proof of fulfilment of the storage and security conditions for the crossbow and the arrows in Romania.
3. You will submit to the Romanian embassy or consulate in your country documents from the previous step and i). the valid border crossing document; ii). an authentic document proving the legal ownership of the crossbow and arrows, if this is possible; iii). a document showing the technical characteristics of the crossbow you want to introduce on Romanian territory.
4. Wait for the approval for the introduction of the crossbow and arrows on the territory of Romania.
5. When you will enter in Romania, present the approval.
